Q: Does a long unpaid medical leave (6-8 months) get deducted from the no. of months of work experience?
A: It will not count. You will have to deduct it.
Q: Should it be revealed in the application?
A: Yes, it should be when you indicate the number of months of work experience. You have an obligation to mention this leave given its significant length. You can also indicate it in the optional essay, which will give you the opportunity to offer an explanation.
Q: Will it affect my candidacy?
A: Almost surely not. Just make sure you explain it properly!
