I have recently given my GMAT and scored a 700( 35v 49Q) and planning to apply for mba program Round 2 in below listed schools. I am a female software engineer with a work experience of 4 years (by the time I join for 2020 intake) in a leading U.S financial firm.
I have bagged a promotion within first 2 years I joined the firm as a fresher. Active participant in various social activities.
I played a role of mentor to the fellow juniors recruited by the firm I work in and helped them in up-skilling in their respective roles.

My undergrad GPA : 3.68
I served as College President during my undergrad course and received various awards for my academic performance and leadership activities.

Schools:
Foster
CMU Tepper
Michigan Ross
NUS

I would like to hear some experts suggestions on how can I work towards achieving admit it any of the above schools.

If there is anyone with a similar profile trying to apply in round 2, I would like to get in touch so we can discuss on various queries throughout the application process.

insane5499, a few thoughts on your profile evaluation.

  1. The academic GPA looks decent. However, is that a converted one since most schools in India don't use a 4 point scale. If yes, don't - most colleges don't ask for it so best to report it as is. It will be important to understand the brand of your college. Also, the GMAT score is ok but not in the right expectation range per your targets. One can easily add 20-30 points to a given school's average to get a sense of the Indian GMAT average.
  2. The work profile sounds fair and the promotion is good - but is that faster than the norm? How fast? Also, delve deeper into the actual nature of your work and how it connects the dots, looking ahead. Remember, software applicants are amongst the largest pool out there - so think about how will you stand out.
  3. The college President bit should be good and so would your involvement in social activities since ECs matter in your MBA applications. However, make sure to articulate the impact/scale on these fronts to ensure you get the right mileage.
