Hi everyone!
I graduated with a bachelors degree in business several years ago from UC Irvine. I've been working in the hotel industry as a sales manager for the past 5 years and I'm considering getting my MBA. As far as my career path, it is a bit up in the air at this point. I've found that I really enjoy Revenue Management so have considered a masters in Finance but I also love the sales side of things which leads me to consider being a Director of Sales. I'd love to move up from either position and work for a management company and oversee the sales or revenue of multiple properties.
All that being said, I've noticed that most hotel executives haven't gone through graduate school, or undergrad for that matter. Most position requirements rely heavily on experience. I'm wondering if there's anyone in the hotel industry that has had a similar career path to mine and decided to get their MBA. If so, has it helped you at all?
Thanks!!
