Hi as someone who wants to get a phd later in my career,is GMAT a prerequisite for any phd program or you are just trying to get a leg up in your career.
Thanks and congrats on your effort.

I am not sure if I have understood your question properly. GMAT is a prerequisite for almost all good Ph.D. programs. If you are applying to a few schools in Australia or some such other places then they will insist on a research proposal.

All the best!
