Since you've already been accepted for the fall in European schools, I think you could give it a shot with the April rounds. Yes, it's hard to get in then, but you still might and that will give you more options to consider for next year.

Depending on what country you're coming from, a student visa takes different time to process. You could look up your local US consulate to see average processing times.

Are you willing to postpone your European school admissions for a year to apply to the US schools next year?

Internationals need to apply in the January rounds at the latest to get visa's in time (and even then it can be a tight squeeze).

I highly recommend doing R1 to have a leisurely approach with the USCIS. Given that is the speed they work at, it is better not to be in a hurry for stress reasons.

Wow. All these different perspectives are really helping me to get mine. Thanks for offering your viewpoint.

I just met a guy who is a current student at HBS and got in the last round. He said that the luck did play a role, because in his admission year, Round1 and Round2 did not include a candidate of his profile. But of course, he did not know this until he went out and tried his luck.

Talking to him did get me curious about the availability of that sort of statistics: do the schools publish a preliminary figures for R1, R2 application volumes/trends? Does anyone know where to look for? I'm particularly interested in Yale, Tuck, Cornell, and Fuqua.

Thanks.
