Cornell and Stanford both ask for lists of college activities where you indicate whether you're appointed, elected, or were simply a lowly member. I have completely lost all ability to use judgement, apparently, 'cause....
I had a couple activities that you had to apply to get in - mostly fancy-schmancy leadership programs. You applied, they decided you were worthy of their attention, and then you got to learn how to overbook your schedule and forgo valuable sleep, all while flooding your resume with relevant experiences.
How would y'all characterize that? I know, I know, it doesn't matter THAT much. It's two tiny lines in the world's longest application. But there ya go.
thanks
