Hi All,
I have applied to MBA programs in the USA, and one of the institutions has raised certain inquiries. Presently, I am employed under an H1B visa and hold an approved I-140 ( I have a masters from USA already and completed OPT). The school has contacted me with the following concerns:
We believe that you may have already used your graduate-level OPT. Most students are eligible to apply for a total of 12 months of OPT at each higher degree level. OPT can only be used once per higher degree level, even if you have multiple degrees per level (e.g., OPT based on a Bachelor's degree and then OPT based on a Master's degree or PhD).
2. It does look like you're on an H1-B currently, but it expires in March 2026. This may make it difficult to transfer the visa before graduation, so we're curious if you've looked into any of this with an immigration attorney or have other information to share with us about this process.
Can someone please help me address it.
