Hi everyone! I’m Jen T with ARINGO, looking forward to reviewing your profiles and answering questions!

anirchat
Hi all – I’m targeting IIM A PGPX and IIM B EPGP for Round 1 and would appreciate a quick profile evaluation, GMAT target score suggestion, and prep/course advice with ~60 days left. Thanks in advance!

Personal Info:
Male, Indian
Education: B.Tech (Computer Science), National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar
Graduation CGPA: 6.4
Class 10 (State Board): 92% – State Rank 12th
Class 12 (State Board): 88% – Highest in English across the state
Professional Background (7 years total):
Deloitte US India– 3 years (Tech + Initial exposure to analytics)
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) – 2 years (Advanced analytics roles)
VISA Inc. – 2 years and ongoing (Currently a Senior Engineer in Payments and Data Engineering)
Industry Exposure: Technology, Analytics, and Payments
Current Compensation: ₹30–40 LPA
Executive Education: Post Graduation Certificate in AI/ML for Leaders from Texas McCombs School of Business (Company-sponsored)
MBA Goals:
Pivot into Strategy & Consulting roles in the AI and Analytics space.
Leverage tech + data experience for high-impact business decision-making roles.
Target MBA Programs:
IIM Ahmedabad – PGPX (1-Year Program)
IIM Bangalore – EPGP (1-Year Program)
Targeting: Round 1 applications (July- Aug 2025)
GMAT Prep So Far:
Prep Time: 3 months (self-prep)
First GMAT Club Mock: 585
Recent Mock Averages: Mid 500s
Key Challenge: Time management
PS: Attempting ~17–18
DI: ~14–15
Verbal: ~15–16
Without time pressure: 80–90% accuracy even on 705+ level questions
PS : Able to solve but taking more time than anticipated due to rudimentary methods.
Verbal Confidence: Strong base (OG + LSAT practice) but struggle to complete 20+ Qs in 45 mins on GMAT Club Tests and Forum Quiz alike
DI: Comfortable conceptually, but struggle to complete 20 Qs in 45 mins on GMAT Club

Help Needed:
Profile Evaluation:
How competitive am I for IIM A PGPX / IIM B EPGP ?
Areas I should highlight or address?
Target Score Advice:
What GMAT score should I aim for to stay competitive, assuming a 20–30 point buffer?
Timeline Planning:
Planning to apply in July (Round 1) – When should I aim to take the final GMAT considering a month for application prep with/without consultant help?
Course Recommendation if any:
Worth investing in a paid course now with ~60 days left?
I need help improving speed under pressure, especially in PS and DI
Verbal prep is manageable on my own

Looking for a quant-focused course that helps improve timed performance.

🙏 Would love to hear your thoughts, tips, and suggestions. Appreciate any feedback or course recommendations from those who’ve been through the grind!
HI anirchat, Thanks for all the information - as far as the GMAT goes, you will need to aim a bit higher than the average (~645 GMAT FE) to help compensate for lower CGPA. If you can get close 705 - you’ll be in a good spot. As for career highlights - you’ll want to spotlight your management and leadership experience.

Stanford GSB is the dream - Intellect, Passion, Vision and Drive ---- you’ll need the GMAT score, startup is a great place, develop your passion and your vision. Apply to the deferred MBA program in your final year.

At your level, you will be looking at Executive or Senior MBA programs - There are several Senior Exec and Management Programs in India; INSEAD has a Global EMBA program as well.

For US/UK - LBS or MIT Sloan Fellows, Stanford MSx, USC IBEAR, Foster GEMBA - these are full time programs geared toward experienced professionals. The GMAT/Executive Assessment are more of a baseline to ensure you can handle the quant/analytical side - less about getting top scores. If GMAT is difficult, try the Executive Assessment - faster, easier and accepted at this level of MBA.

For GSB, you have to stand out in an area you are passionate about - FAANG, Unicorns, MBB - all great but no guarantee at GSB - they are looking for people that do more than collect experiences - they are looking people that curate them. I want to be/do [?], so I created a path to learn [x], [y] and [z]. now i’m ready for GSB to get to the next level.

take your GMAT before your graduate, aim for 675+, then you can focus on what you want to accomplish post-grad
