Let me get this chat going and ask a question (and answer it )
The question is, should I rush and apply in R1 or wait and apply in R2?
In theory, R1 is always better. The chances might be slightly higher for both acceptance and scholarships and even if they were the same, you want to know the answers by November, in case you need to apply to some backup options as well.
BUT, as the chances are kind of the same, R2, with a better application (CV, essays, recommendation etc.) or 20+ points in the GMAT ALWAYS beats R1.
So my suggestion is - only apply when you are ready!

Hi,
WELL...
As you GPA is great. your work experience is fantastic, and if you score a 750 that would be amazing
you can get into any business school in the world.
What would I do?
1. complete and maximize your score in the GMAT
2. if you score 740+ choose 2-3 M7 shcools (Chicago, Kellogg, Wharton sound like good fits to me)
3. in any case choose 2-3 safer shcools (Cornell, Darden, Tuck, Duke for example)
4. talk to me (I am always on

*** BTW - For a detailed
profile review, please send me your CV, GMAT score, school wish list and any other info to

Let’s play a little thinking game - can you guess which one of these is actually true?
1. You can’t get into an M7 MBA program without a 750 GMAT
2. If you are older than 30 you can’t get into a top MBA program
3. If you are looking for a high post-MBA salary you have to go to Harvard
4. The GMAT is 90% of the application
5. If I don’t volunteer I won’t get into Yale
6. INSEAD requires international work experience
