Are "Hard" problems in OG of 700-800 level ?

Part of the answer is: no one really knows for sure. GMAC is quite cagey about this sort of thing, but presumably, the harder questions in the OG, which tend to come toward the ends of sections, mirror the difficulty level of the harder questions on the real GMAT. That is a general assumption, although no one can conclude this with dogmatic certainty, given the publicly available knowledge that surrounds these issues. At another level, the whole idea that a single question, in isolation, is or could be of, say, a "700 level" is profoundly problematic and, arguably, meaningless. You asked about this same subject in a post a couple of days ago, and the issues that I mentioned are still the same....

Before you go spending too much time focusing on any particular 'difficulty level' of questions, it's important to define your current skills and your goals.

1) What is your score goal?
2) How have you been scoring on your practice CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
3) When are you planning to take the GMAT.

It could be that the materials that you're asking about are not actually the materials that you *need*.

Hi nphsingh,

As you may have noticed, the questions become generally more difficult as you progress through the OG. No one knows for sure where to peg the level of the questions and that's especially true for the verbal section. It has been said, however that the most difficult of the questions in the quantitative section approach the 700 level. But really, that's a very rough estimate that should by no means dictate your study approach. Focus on skills, strategies, and approaches to the questions. If you do this you will improve your accuracy, which in turn will increase the level of the questions you receive on the exam.
