I am quite torn by this question, but I think it should be allowed. Censorship should be applied as gently as possible.
On one hand, many people in this thread have already pointed out that deciding on a school is a very personal decision, so the "right" answer can only be determined by the original poster, ironically. Also, these threads run the great risk of turning into a flamewar, where posters feel the need to defend their schools' reputation.
On the other hand, I think GC members do a fairly decent job of moderating these threads so it doesn't completely degenerate into a complete mess. Also, on a philosophical level, I do think that being as open as possible improves the quality of the forum, despite degrading the signal to noise ratio slightly. For every ten School A vs School B thread that rehashes the same old argument, there might be one School A vs School B thread that is unique and gives everyone food for thought. IMO, that one thread is worth the ten useless threads.
