Hi,

I would suggest just go with the order its given. I know that you already know some of the easy questions, but it would be useful to know why those are incorrect. Because GMAT is the game of Elimination, if you know the rules of this game you will win with flying colors.

Thanks,
Prateek

Hi hikamikubo,

To answer your immediate question: YES - each 'set' of practice questions in the OG is generally arranged in order of increasing difficulty. While the OG books are great sources for practice questions, they're not designed to teach you Tactics, patterns or the little 'secrets' behind the GMAT - for those, you'll need Course-oriented materials.

From your post, it sounds as though you are in the early-stage of your studies. If that's the case, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can take 2 for free at www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 3.5 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have that Score, you should report back here and we can discuss the results and come up with a study plan.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi EMPOWERgmatRichC -san

Thank you for the many information - I will be sure to take the CAT.
Yes I am still in Day 6 of my studying GMAT as you mentioned.

For now, I am using the 30 Days GMAT Success (by Brandon Wu).
I did take a test last week and scored below.
【Verbal】
・RC: 70%
・CR: 60%
・SC: 60%
【Quant】
・PS: 90%
・DS: 85%
For now, my main focus is on SC and CR.
As for your questions, hope these answers.

1) What is your goal score?
 →730+

2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
 →Nov 14 (Sat), 2020

3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
→Round 2 for C/o 2023 (So send in my application package by end of Dec 2020)

Thanks,

Hi hikamikubo,

What was the source of the test that you took? I ask because your results do not include an Overall Score nor the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores that come with a realistic, adaptive practice CAT Test - and if you have not taken one of THOSE CAT Tests yet, then we don't have a realistic definition of your current GMAT skills yet.

In addition, many GMATers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores, so if your overall study timeframe is just 1.5 months, then there might be a limit to how high you will score.
