I live in a country where private equity/asset management firms are practically unheard of, but I've found one after tons of research. Since I don't have any experience whatsoever in finance, I'd like to ask the firm if I can do an unpaid internship for 6 months or so (unpaid because I have no experience, and I'd really just be learning the ropes of the trade and what not), as I'm considering private equity as a post-MBA goal.
I'm actually quitting my current job for this opportunity but I'm worried AdCom will frown upon the fact that I'm willing to get work experience [that will support my post-MBA goals) with no pay.
Your thoughts please?

No, its understood that certain industries dont pay or dont pay well. Its not frowned upon at all. I know for internships during school thay say take unpaid if need be but try to get paid something. Two reasons for this, you need money to live and if a company is paying something they are going to expect more of you and support you more...you arent free labor doing some worthless job basically.
