it will certainly help your prospects of scholarship, i cannot give an amount or % though; but generally MBA programs reward any part of an application that will help boost their MBA ranking - average GMAT/ employer/sector...

With someone who doesn’t actually have much of a social life, what extra-curricular activities can you provide in your resume? And, from an Oil and Gas point of view, is it wise to make an essay surrounding sustainable energy?

Totally understand that - EC’s aren’t measured in volume, more quality and connectedness to what you are passionate about. Find something that aligns with who you are and go for that - either volunteering or being involved in a club/activity - its not just volunteer that counts - clubs/hobbies can count too - they are ultimately looking for involvement and leadership skills.

Yes - totally fine to use an slant that you’ve been in O&G and understand how the old system works and you want to be part of the new wave, and utilizing your experience in O&G will help you be an even better partner in the future of sustainability
