Hi guys,

Which guide would you recommend? I have read great things about both of them but which one would be the best in terms of strategy?

To be honest, Reading Comprehension is the only section in which test takers do not make significant score improvement just by following testing strategies. Practice is the key for this section. Having read both Aristotle and Manhattan guides, I would say that both are great books, but a lot of your score improvement would depends on diligent practice and decoding RC patterns. Personally, I have found Kaplan Verbal Workbook and Kaplan GMAT 800 better books in terms of RC strategies, short and crisp easy-to-follow methods.

Most importantly, it's of utmost importance that you practice Reading Comprehension from reliable sources; GMAT Official Guides and GMAT Prep software questions are the best available resources.

All the best :)

Hi cfc198,

Since you've been posting in the forums here for a couple of weeks now, have you done much studying for the GMAT yet? In the early going, it would be a good idea to take an initial FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can take 2 for free at www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 3.5 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can discuss the results.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
