in gmat, something is undefined when it is infinite (somthing divided by 0).
good question, i was thrown off the same way as sharad was. i got to the point where -3<z<3, but from there i did not know what the question was asking. so from what i see, this first inequality gives us the range of valid values for z. then we factorize the denominator for each equation and find a value for z in the range (-2, 2) to see if the denom. becomes 0. will remember it now
