Hi there,
Thanks for posting and sharing your background and ambitions. The good news is, a non-traditional industry and role such as what you've described in the art world CAN be a big plus because it's so unique, and you'll provide a different perspective in classroom discussions for example, IF you put together a strong application and definitely make a compelling case for getting the MBA... show that you know what you are getting into and exactly how you'll use it!
And it is important that your overall story and goals make sense and line up... but it sounds do-able, so far, based on what you've shared here.
Columbia definitely values those who have their heart set on Columbia, and really know it well and can show why you would be a good fit for their program. So applying ED helps make that case, and then be sure that you do your homework and try to experience Columbia as much as you can (visit, sit in on classes, get in touch with current students and alum, do your research) so that you can speak to KNOWING the school and that it's the best place for you.
Best of luck and please let us know what other q's you may have, or if interested in a free consult you can sign up anytime at
