A group --> Singular subject

Quote:
(A) As consumers, a group of politicians believe that you

S-V error. "Believe" is a plural verb and the subject, a group, is singular.

Quote:
(B) A group of politicians believes as consumers that you

Usage of "as" is to provide a role to politicians and not provide any comparison. But then the usage will literally imply that "politicians can believe when they become consumers" and this makes the meaning illogical and the whole clause to be awkward.

Quote:
(C) You, as consumers, a group of politicians believe

S-V error. Similar to A.

Quote:
(D) A group of politicians, who believe that you

S-V error because "who" is modifying "a group", which is singular but the verb "believe" is plural.

Quote:
(E) A group of politicians believes that you, as consumers

No S-V error. "as consumers" is correctly modifying "you".

Hence, OA is E.
