Its E!
"-tech start-up has branched out" its singular so the use of "they" is wrong--thus A, B and C are out
D is wrong because of redundancy-->"Previously" and in "past years" mean the same thing so D wrong
Its E for me

As its performance has risen on all the stock indexes, the bio-tech start-up has branched out into new markets to look for opportunities it would previously have had to ignore.

I would mark option (E)

This sentence tests correct Pronoun Usage,

(A) they would previously have had to ignore - Pronoun Antecedent error

(B) they would have had to ignore previously - Pronoun Antecedent error

(C) that previously they would have had to ignore - Pronoun Antecedent error

(D) it previously would have had to ignore in past years - Redundancy

(E) it would previously have had to ignore

Hence correct answer must be (E)

As its performance has risen on all the stock indexes, the bio-tech start-up has branched out into new markets to look for opportunities they would previously have had to ignore.
(A) they would previously have had to ignore - 'They' should not be used for biotech startup - which is a singular

(B) they would have had to ignore previously - Same as A

(C) that previously they would have had to ignore - Same as A

(D) it previously would have had to ignore in past years - 'previously' and 'past years' used together are redundant

(E) it would previously have had to ignore - CORRECT
