Over the same period, however, the number of people getting sun burns from suntanning decreased, even though there was no reduction in the number of people suntanning on the beach each day. Only C and E came close, but E gives the reason for decline in the number of visitors to the beach whereas it is mentioned that there is no decline in the number of visitors to the beach.

I would say avoid calling E a close answer, it is actually already said suntanning numbers have increased in the second premise offered. A B and D are irrelevant

Number of visitors increase
Sunburnt decrease >< Sunny days increase
=> Paradox. Visitors still go sunbathing but don't get sunburnt => they must have found a way to protect them better.


(C) People going to the Jersey Shore used suntan lotion with increasing levels of UV protection and monitored UV levels to help determine what times during the day were most suitable for being in the sun. YES
