Ashley can do a piece of work in 24 days and Barbara can do the same piece of work in 36 days. They together complete the same piece of work and get $2000 as the combined wages. Find Ashley’s share of the wage.

A. $800
B. $900
C. $1000
D. $1200
E. $1380

IMO D

one thing to note here is since Ashley's rate is higher than Barbara's rate. Ashley will be getting paid more than Barbara
Now we simply need to divide 2000 in a ratio of 24:36 which is 2:3
2000 will be 800:1200
Ashley is getting the higher amount so she gets 1200
