speed of Bella is b mph let ,so of Adriana=(b-4) mph
while they meet Adriana covers 60 miles and Bella covers 84 miles
the only difference is the 1/2 hr of rest by Bella.
i.e. 60/(b-4) - 84/b=1/2 when equated in terms of time
this forms a quadratic in b as , b^2+ 44b - 672=0
can be fragmented as b^2 +56b -12b -672=0
(b+56)(b-12)=0
so Bella speed =12 mph

I think this is a good question to guess on. I chose 12 to start because 12 divides into 72 easily. If Adriana is 12 mph, then Bella is 8 mph. In 6 hours, Adriana is at Raughton and Bella is 48 miles in. After half an hour, Bella is 52 miles in. In one more hour, Adriana is 12 miles from Raughton and meets Bella who is 60 miles in. This confirms that 12 is the right number.
