At a certain photography store, it costs Pete $1.65 for the first print and $0.85 for each additional print. How many prints of a particular photograph can Pete get for $20.00?

A. 19
B. 20
C. 21
D. 22
E. 23

\(\frac{20-1.65}{0.85} + 1 = 22\), Answer must be (D)

The reason it's rounded down to 22 is that the number of prints must be a whole number, and Pete can't purchase a fraction of a print. Even though the calculation gives 22.something, only 22 full prints can be bought with $20, as there's not enough money left for another complete print.
