1080 feet per hour = 1080/60*60 feet per second = 3/10 feet per second
area required = 1.8 square foot = 9/5 square foot

in 1 second area of sheet , which moved through = 3/10 * 3 = 9/10
in 2 seconds .... = 3/10 * 2 * 3 =9/5 square foot

The length of the metal sheet is 1.8/3 = 0.6 ft. Since the conveyor moves at a constant speed of 1080 ft/hr, its rate per second is 1080/3600 = 0.3 ft/sec. Therefore, a metal sheet of length of 0.6 ft would take 0.6/0.3 = 2 seconds to move through the conveyor.
