Solution

Given:
    • At Company Y, the ratio of the number of female employees to the number of male employees= 3 : 2
    • Company has 150 female employees.

To find:
    • Number of male employees.

Approach and Working:
    • Let us assume that the total employees in the company = 5x
      o Hence, number of female employees = 3x
      o And, number of male employees = 2x
         3x = 150, x = 50
      o Thus, 2x = 100.

Hence, the correct answer is option D.

A. 50
B. 80
C. 90
D. 100
E. 120

We can let the number of female and male employees be 3x and 2x, respectively. Since there are 150 female employees:

150 = 3x

50 = x

So there are 2 * 50 = 100 male employees.

Alternate solution:

We can let the number of male employees be x and create the equation:

150/x = 3/2

3x = 300

x = 100
