Source is 800score.

Can you please explain why B and not C. I am confused between B and C.

my 2 cent on it.

For me btw B and C it was meaning issue. B says it gave access to x km of area. Whereas C says it gave access to x kms in area.

So meaning wise B sounds more appropriate.

yeah sure!
the reason i eliminated C is as follows:

C says: as much as three million square kilometres in South American territory----->here "south american" is used as an adjective. such usage is wrong .

we can easily opt out A,D,E .

now between B and C, territory is an area and only 'of' makes sense here .
eg: the state govt. claimed back 20% of area occupied by illegal construction . VS the state govt. claimed back 20% in area occupied by illegal construction .

option B is the best choice here.

Hi,

"As much X as Y" is the correct idiom when comparing. However in option A "territory" is wrongly compared to "three million square km" when actually it should modify the "three million square km".

Option B is error free.

In option C: "in South American territory" changes the meaning.

Regards,
Dom.
