At the Cannes Cineplex, everyone is watching either the adventure film or the drama. Among those watching the adventure film, 30% are adults, while among those watching the drama, 60% are adults. If 36% of all viewers are adults, by what percent does the number of children watching the adventure film exceed the number of children watching the drama?

Let Total no. of people = 100
Then from this 36 will be adults (given 36% of total people are adults) ; 64 children
Let the no. of people watching Adv Film = X (here 0.3x adults)
Let no. of people watching Drama = 100-X (here 0.3*100-X adults i.e 60 - 0.6x)
Now,
0.3x + 60 - 0.6x = 36
24 = 0.3x
x = 80
So adv Films = 80 and Drama = 20
Adv films: adults - 24 (cuz 30% of 80) and 56 children
Drama: adults - 12 (cuz 60% of 20) and 8 children
56-8 = 48
48/8*100 = 600%
Therefore, number of children watching the adventure film exceed the number of children watching the drama by 600% (option A)
Then from this 36 will be adults (given 36% of total people are adults) ; 64 children
