At the elite university, 500 students study Computer Science(CS) or Electrical Engineering(EE) or both. If 100 of these students do not study Electrical Engineering, how many of these students study both Computer Science and Electrical Engineering?
total students = 500
If 100 students do not study EE => 400 students study EE.
(1) Of the 500 students, 90 do not study Computer Science.
=> 410 Students study CS.
In order to find the number of students who study both CS and EE we need to know either of the following -
(i) Number of Students who study EE and not CS or
(ii) Number of students who study CS and not EE or
(iii) Number of students who neither study CS nor EE.
But, we don't have any such information
Statement 1 is not sufficient.
(2) A total of 410 of the students study Computer Science.
=> 90 students do not study CS.
This information is same as statement 1.
Hence, not sufficient.
Combining the statements will also be of no help since, we can't find the information required (i), (ii) or (iii)

I don't understand how to solve this by illustrating cluster.
Lets assume a is the only computer students
b is the only electronics student
c is the both departments studying ones
then a+b+c=500
and a=100
According to 1) b=90 then c=is 310
According to 2)a+b=410
a=100 b=310 then c=90
Lets assume a is the only computer students
