We know that "Not only……………., But also…………." is correlative conjunction. It is essential to use a similar grammatical entity after both the part. For example:
"Not only………M……., But also……N……."
Both M and N should be a similar grammatical entity. Let's check the answer options now:
Option A: "Not only………Relative clause…, But ………..Verb+ing Phrase .."
Option B: "Not only………Verb Phrase ……., But also …..Verb Phrase …" (Similar entity)
Option C: "Not only………Modals……………., But also …infinitive ……………"
Option D: "Not only………Verb Phrase ……., But …………Verb+ing Phrase ……."
Option E: "Not only………Relative clause…., But also…….Verb Phrase …………..."
The lack of parallelism is evident in all the options, but B. So, B is the correct answer.
There are several other errors in the non-parallel options.
Mentionable that "Not only……………., But …………." is also technically correct idiom.
