My answer is (B). It took me 01:30.
The meaning of the sentence is unclear after "but". No option sheds more light on the twins' reluctance: are they reluctant to finish opening the presents? Consider that for most presents, opening them amounts to finishing opening them, it is hard to decipher why they switch from eagerness to reluctance a second.
Anyhow, (B) is selected because it is parallel with "eager to begin".
(A) No parallelism. "them" can refer to twins or presents.
(C) No parallelism. "reluctant" should be "reluctantly".
(D) Only partial parallelism with "were eager to begin".
(E) No parallelism.

I will go with B here.
Not sure aabout the meaning, but only B goes correct in terms of parallelism.
A: Looks like an independent clause following 'but', but the subject is missing.
C: Them refers to the presents, but in the previous clause "Eager to begin their presents", here their refers to the twins. Pronoun ambiguity
D: Reluctant after finishing is incorrect.
E: Again, pronoun ambiguity with the word Their.
B: Parallelism - Twins were "Eager to begin opening their presents" & Twins were "Reluctant to finish"
