Consider writing a profile-review. After including your target schools and application deadlines, you could ask what next steps you might want to take/prioritize. You could also include any other queries/concerns you have.

Hi AKKAMI,

I think there are so many factors that go into an answer. For example, let's say you scored 750+ on your official practice exams and 690 on your actual GMAT. Well, in that case, I'd chalk it up to a bad day or test anxiety, so I would 100 percent tell you to retake your GMAT! We actually discuss all this further in the following video:

Hi AKKAMI,

Assuming that the 780/Q50 Score that you have listed in your profile is an actual Official GMAT Score, then there is NO reason to retake the GMAT. With that Score, you can comfortably apply to ANY Business Schools that interest you - and there is almost certainly no benefit to scoring higher (as far as your applications are concerned).

And what about someone who got a Q50 when they consistently get Q51s on practice tests, but somewhat over-performed on verbal, leading to the score they usually saw on practice tests? It's all relative, I guess.

Hi Rich, yes, I verified the score earlier today to make sure people wouldn't assume trolling.

What if you consistently got Q51s on practice tests? The score would've been a 790 had that held on test day, correct?

Hi AKKAMI,

Unless an Admissions Officer at your first-choice School told you that you had no chance of receiving an invite unless you scored a Q51 (or some other equally unlikely situation), then there is no justifiable reason to retake the GMAT based on your current Score.
