Hi everyone!
My initial 660 story is here
https://gmatclub.com/forum/what-went-wrong-88077.htmlI took some time off, some personal ans work priorities changed, and I renewed preparation in March to take the test on April 8.
Concentrated mostly on math, since my verbal was ok. Again reread the posts on this forum, and paid special attention to DS (I really felt this was more difficult for me due to careless mistakes).
Went through Kaplan Math Workbook - can recommend as a nice source of medium-difficulty questions. What I did was to start every day with 5 - 15 problems, and did my best to solve them in my head, not using pen and paper. 2 weeks before the test took GMAT Prep 1 again (reinstalled), score 760 (Q49 V45), although was still behind the schedule on math. Remembering my previous experience did not reply on the result, though.
A week prior to exam went through the tougher part of PS and DS in the OG, again, solving all in my head. The work schedule was really tough so I did not have much time to really dive into preparation and take some additional mock tests.
Basically, I was not expecting much going to the test center, and was just ready to do my best in that situation.
2 things I changed compared to my 1st take on GMAT:
1. Concentrated really hard on first problems
2. Kept my nerves down (AWA was especially helpful here)
Math was ok, I got a feeling that problems were at least trickier, if not a bit more difficult than the Prep ones. By question 27 I was well behind the schedule and in last 10 did what someone here suggested - solving only half and guessing the other half, in turns.
Verbal was ok, nothing really complicated, although there was one tricky CR question on which I spent around 4 min.
Was rather calm waitng for results, expected same 660.
720 Q47 V42 was a relief. Although I am always aiming high, and will think about another retake after a good preparation, this definitely boosted my confidence back.
A piece of wisdom:) GMAT is doable guys. Keeping the nerves down and being attentive to little tricks in wording are 2 really important factors.
Good luck!
