Attention Underrepresented minorities...please read.

Question

Hello All,

I just finished registering for Kellogg's preview weekend, and would like to attend other Underrepresented minorities events at other schools such as UCLA and McCombs. If there are any females interested in sharing a room and rental car, maybe, please let me know. This will be my first time travelling to Chicago and I would like to partner up with someone if I can.

I was wondering if anyone else here would be attending any events or applying through the Consortium. Also if you are a member of Forte or Toigo and plan to attend any of there events, feel free to post events here.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that you could'nt apply to become a Toigo member until after you were already accepted to a B-school. 

I have been contemplating USC and McCombs but I still havent made up my mind. I work in construction and real estate both of which cater more to a local market so I don't know how easy it would be to transfer to another region.

I might be wrong about Toigo, I do participate in Forte events. Also does anyone listen to MBA podcaster? 

Have you applied to Discover McCombs weekend? I went to the site and I can't find where to apply for 2007 weekend. I see the 2006 agenda still posted to the site.

For all of the diversity weekends that I have looked at they have all contacted me directly. I know McCombs event is November 15th-17th. You may want to contact Jackie or Rebecca at the consortium and I'm sure they will know how.

Just thought I would let you know that I just got appointed to Duke's Weekend for Women committee. Over the years, we've done a good job providing a great venue for women to come together and feel good about Duke. In fact, my class has 36% women, a sizable improvement over last year (I think about 29%). The women's weekend is happening at the end of October.

Duke's minority weekend is also supposed to be pretty awesome, but I don't know as much about it. It's in November.

I just confirmed Cornell for Wednesday of next week. I will be taking the bus with another young lady I meet at a Tepper womens event. Chicago is confirmed for Nov 16-18th, now I need to figure out how I am going to get to Texas. This process is sooooooooo damn expensive. Undergrad was not this hard.

I am considering to go to the Duke's women's weekend as well... i'm not sure how to get out of work though... grrr.
I am also visiting on the October 2nd. Very excited about meeting the students on-campus!
