Another answer I don't fully understand.
If I join to affect/to induce with AND what about AND corrosion?
So is it more proper to say:
Something is enough to affect X and induce Y and Z
vs
Something is enough to affect X, induce Y and Z
If I join to affect/to induce with AND what about AND corrosion?

i got this question qrong the first time too 
, because i misunderstood the sentence in the same way you have. the electric currents cause the blackouts AND the corrosion, i.e. the corrosion is a secondary cause of the aurora, not a direct one.
