Hey everyone, I'm just another Indian engineer male (non-IT) planning to make it to the R1. I haven't taken the GMAT yet, but will soon take it in two weeks :)

So I've given a lot of hours in the r&d wrt choosing the bschools to apply to, but all I'm seeing is the avg workex of the batch being 5+ years almost everywhere. I don't wish to go for an MIM/Masters and it is MBA only that I desire. Given that I'll only have a total of 26 months of workex at the end of August 2020
Can someone help me with shorlisting of bschools given that I've decent acads, GPA of 4, outshone my peers in the tier2 firm, worked in sales & marketing for the 2 years and have some excellent extracurriculars.

Also I'm not aiming for some specific country, but yes, I'd like to go for consulting roles at MBB.

I'm expecting a score of around 700(if not crossing the 7xx mark at the least)

Hey gmatwithcer - ISB can be a great choice if you break that 720 barrier

I think having 32 months of work exp by end of Feb 2021, coupled with a great essay and other aspects of the application will put you on a great spot

Actually I want to apply outside India so I'm letting go of the ISB option. A hard and difficult pass :)

1. I don't know what schools you are looking at that have 60+ months of work experience. Perhaps you can reference them here
2. Work experience is counted as of the time of matriculation
3. Work experience is helpful when you go to bschool for reasons such as class activity, participation, and recruiting. The better the experience, the better chances of being recruited, and better chances of admission. Those are correlated... so make sure you have progress, growth, and a trajectory with your WE.

P.S. 2 years is usually the minimum experience on average which you will meet but the minimum may not be sufficient in some cases... it all depends on growth, accomplishments, and brand names.
