Hi everyone, as the title suggests, I have a pretty average/non-competitive resume when compared to all the others applying to different schools. What are some b-schools which give a chance to those with a non-fancy resume while offering a good ROI?
Dear
dreamingofanmba , your question is vague especially without a GMAT score in perspective (taking into account your profile description from your previous post).
With a decent GMAT score (680+) and stellar essays highlighting your leadership capabilities and other interesting aspects, you can target some very prestigious regional B Schools that also rank in Top50 such as Rotterdam , Emory, Rotman, NUS, EDHEC, HKUST, CEIBS, ESSEC, SDA Bocconi and IESE to name a few. How you shortlist target schools should depend on your geography of interest and post MBA goals.
I would like to emphasize that you do not give up on your aspirational schools (T10 or ISB) without putting up a strong fight. If it gives you hope, sharing a couple of recent examples of applicants I worked with who had absolutely "non-fancy" profiles
--> A female applicant with 6 years of telecom/IT work experience and 1.5 years of career gap recently got an invite from ISB for R2
--> A male applicant with mediocre academics, gap year in college and IT work experience cleared ISB waitlist
