Hi ardenjorata,
First off, a 680/Q49 is a strong Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. While it's certainly possible that the size of the computer monitor impacted your performance, it would be questionable to assume that that was the only factor in your drop in score.
Assuming that you plan to retake the GMAT, before I can offer you any advice for this next phase of your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich
Thank you,
EMPOWERgmatRichC1. I've been studying for 3-4 months already, 1-3 hours everyday (but there were days when I was not able to study at all because of my work)
2. I used
OG 2019,
eGMAT Verbal, and GMATClub's question bank
3. I took my first 2 CATs 2 months ago, scored 680, 690 (with Q50 and Q51). Next CATs were all atleast 720 (770 max) with Q only either 50 or 51
4. I want 740+, but I'll proceed with my application with atleast 700.
5. Round 2 this year (my deadline is to finish and submit my application before the year ends)
6. Stanford, Wharton, MIT, and Columbia
My worry now is I have taken all GMATPrep Tests. Not sure yet what practice tests I should use as an alternative.
I'm confident with my overall profile (college GPA, work experience, recommendation letter, and essay/story); I just don't want my GMAT score to look like a hole in my application.
I'm planning to retake on the 30th of September.
Thank you.
