Guys,
I have a question for you all regarding a strategy.
I study hard for the GMAT, till I am able to score a 700 on practice exams. Then I write the GMAT BUT purposely score around 520. Then after a month write the GMAT again and this time score around 700.
Do you guys think that I can then sell this to the admission committee as me being hard working, achiever, go-getter, "reach my goals" attitude, etc, as I am able to raise my score by 180 in a month. Will this impress the admission committee?

You're essays (go getter stories) shouldn't be about the GMAT. Schools want community engagement, leadership stories, learning from mistakes, etc.. (i.e. All things that involve interaction with other people/groups).
Don't bank on strategies like this to stick out to the adcomm. Most adcomms can read "fluff" fairly well, but there will be the people who brag about getting in using fluff.
