As there are 1000 purchasers in sample,400 are men, 600 are women.

Under 30, total purchasers, 400 and women under 30 are 360 hence men under 30 are 40
Over 65, total purchasers, 100 and men over 65 are 85, hence women over 65 will be 15.
With above data, Men (30 to 65): 400-40-85=275 and Women (30 to 65) = 225

Official Explanation

Of the 1,000 purchasers, 60% are women, so there are 600 women and 400 men. Ten percent of the 1,000 purchasers, or 100 people, are over 65. Of these, 85 are men, and 15 women. Of the total, 40%, or 400 people, are under 30, and 360 of those 400 are women. There are 500 purchasers between 30 and 65 years of age. The 40 men under 30 and the 85 men over 65 account for 125 of the 400 men, so there are 275 men between 30 and 65.

The 360 women under 30 and the 15 women over 65 account for 375 of the 600 women, so there are 225 women between 30 and 65.

<30 ; 30 to 65 ; >65
Men 40 275 85 = 400 (40%)
