Hi siriavalur,

Since it sounds like you're just beginning your studies, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

Hi Siri,

If you're not planning to apply to Business School until next October, then you have plenty of time to study for the GMAT, which is good. Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores, so you have to look at the is whole process as a large-scale commitment (and an investment in your future).

1) Do you know which Schools you plan to apply to?

Hi siri,

We can't comment for other tests but do note that no test prep company's algorithm will exactly match the real thing. The best we can do is get close.

You can always take a free GMAT PILL practice test here complete with detailed performance and timing analytics: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... ctice-test

In terms of our scoring, many of our students report scores that are +/- 30 points from their actual GMAT test and so are a relatively good indicator of their performance. That said, no practice test can perfectly replicate the actual score algorithm, but this is quite close.

Hi Siri,

In a prior post, I mentioned that it would be a good idea to complete an initial practice CAT Test, so that we can get a sense of your current skills. That's still a good first step, so you should start there. Once you have that result, you should post back here.
