Narrowing down b/w C and E, would select E coz of -
||ism -> "internal pressure of the human body and that of the ocean"
usage -> "it is essential that a diver ... ascend slowly...."
For the above reasons I agree that E is the best option.But I beleive that the "ascend" should be "ascends" in option E.Option C does use "ascends" but then "difference ..between" is more appropriate.Hence I beleive that option E is the best and "ascend" should be "ascends".Please correct me if I'm wrong.
It is not the body pressure and ocean pressure that ascends sloyly
It is the diver so....ascends is correct IMO

no, buddy, this one is subjunctive mood
According to the golden Manhattan SC book which we know is the best of the kind:
you should use subjunctive mood for verbs following words and phrases such as "advice, advisable, ask, arrange,....essential, fitting, imperative, important, insist, necessary,etc....."
So the verb following these indicators must be in bare-infinitive form.
It is not the body pressure and ocean pressure that ascends sloyly
It is the diver so....ascends is correct IMO
