You need a subject/object that refers to 'such firms' in the last part of the sentence! B (to require of X to Y) is the correct idiomatic expression.

Please do not post OA to the question! This might distort the explanations given by clubber!

the phrase "such firms" means that firms need to be the subject of the sentence. the sentence as presented here doesn't contain this subject.

(A) to survive the subject is missing
(B) of firms to survive correct use of the subject Firms.
(C) for surviving the subject is missing
(D) for survival the subject is missing
(E) for firms’ survival the subject is firms, using firms' make this a possessive which does not agree with the modifying phrase

I thought require of X to Y is unidiomatic. MGMAT only states 1) require that 2) require X to Y.

What is the source of this question? I disagree with the OA

"Such firms" is the subject of the sentence, you mean that it doesnt contain the object of the sentence (firms)
