I am not sure whether these types of questions are already discussed in this forum.. But I would like to know what are the benefits of MBA degree for someone with an engineering background and 10 yrs of IT experience and earning about 125K / yr. I know there are several reasons to do an MBA degree to get into executive roles. I cannot leave my job due to circumstances so I can only do EMBA or part-time MBA. I am interested in doing EMBA in one of the top schools.

How long will it take to re-coupe the money spent on MBA? what are the short-term and long-term benefits.

I have only recently started to think about MBA and have not fully explored it.

Please let me know your thoughts.

I am in the same boat and after giving GMAT (730), seriously thinking whether to apply to 2-yr programs or not.

Really would like to hear others thoughts.

i am from IT background and i am looking for MBA to either career switch or advance corporate ladder. Frankly i am not interested in being a "code monkey" for the long term and management is the way to go.
