I know this is a very common question but really I am confused now, I have tried both while practicing and I have seen mixed results with both of them. Sometimes I feel pre thinking just doesn't work on the harder arguments but other times if you don't pre think then you will be wasting time by thinking about each answer choice and how it effects the argument. I know sometimes the ans choices are blatantly wrong, and obviously this is not about those kind of questions.
This is more about the question in which when you do go through each choice after 2nd 3rd choice you are confused that what you are even looking for and or what was the argument and doubting yourself that did you missed something in the argument.
And it's really difficult to pre think on evaluate type questions specially so I am not sure anymore which technique is the right one on which i should work for the next 1 month before my second attempt. When i started my prep i took the pre thinking route and performed average but I was always kind of unsure of the answer i chose but usually got them right (but unsure so didn't give me confidence), whereas when I stopped pre thinking just focused on the argument I got much more confident while choosing the answers but the issue I face now specially during mocks and during the exam is, if after reading 2-3 answer choices I don't really see the answer I get confused even though I know i should go beyond the 3rd choice but I think brain just confuses the argument by then. And I end up wasting time or picking wrong ans choices.
In the end, even in my initial mocks I used to see 3-4 CR mistakes out of 12-14 question on average. And even in the end the same thing is true, so how to go beyond this I am really confused.
And for RC does pre thinking works like summarising the ans in your head before going to the answer choice? I have confused feeling about this one as well, I used to be great at RC naturally like my initial mocks I got hardly 1 wrong. But by the end somehow I think I lost my ability somehow maybe coz i tried to implement various techniques offered by people and now I am not even sure what am I doing wrong.
