Hi, I applying to HBS 2+2 and Stanford Deferred MBA. I would like to know what you think the best/most important type of leadership experience is.
So far I have the following experience:
-Civic Leader for Responding to Covid-19 and Natural Disasters in my college's community
-Boys and Girls club - Tutoring children in math and reading
-Budget Allocation Committee (board member)
Although this is great and all, should I run for a position on Student Government? There is currently an open spot for Treasurer, but I am unsure if this is worth it or even meaningful. I am Economics major and Physics minor trying to go into Tech and want to craft my application to represent this (my STEM side). Would being Treasurer actually inhibit this goal and make me look too finance/econ focused?

Thanks for your question. I think the current leadership positions you have are strong. Since you're already on the Budget Allocation Committee, it may be a shade duplicative to also run for the Treasurer spot on the Student Government. It's also more important what you do in each of your roles rather than simply accumulate roles.
