Best MSF option if placement isn't a concern?

Question

I'm planning for an MSF and PhD afterwards so placements in business sectors don't concern especially since I've already secured a teaching position after I get my PhD. So the issue here is that all semi ranking availablefor MSF are based on placements while in my situation I'm looking for a decent program regardless of placenments but one that would help get in me a PhD program afterwards.

GPA: BA in accounting 3.42
GMAT:680 .. I could get it to 720 if it makes a big difference
TOEFL : 104
I will have a max of 1 year experience in accounting job in a gov. sector inst.
I will also be trying for CFA I in Dec and I'm confident I'll pass it

I'm a female and I come from kuwait which I've been told might help but I'm not sure of that.

I'm looking for something not so technical more on the line of corporate finance.

So far I'm thinking BC but i've been told that living in boston is way to expensive so i'm looking for other options just incase

Any thoughts would be helpful

I know Vanderbilt is a great program and send many people into PhD programs when they are done. The area is pretty cheap to live in also. BC looks like more of a professional program. You might want to look at some of the smaller and less heard of programs. They would probably flow into a PhD pretty easily.

As a side note, why not just go into a PhD directly?

Okey I checked your site and it's seriously amazing it's very helpful in narrowing down the schools that I'm applying to BC, Vandie, Purdue, WashU, Rochester and University of Maryland .. so much for narrowing down

I still haven't figured out which would be the most helpful program for a Phd but I suppose I'll make a decision once I get accepted. I'll take GMAT once more to try for 700+ for PhD instead of waiting for later. As for why MSF it's because I already have a scholarship for both and MSF is barely one year length so I think its worth doing especially since I feel that my BA i pretty worthless and I need more finance exposure before I try for PhD

I know Vanderbilt places people into PhD programs regularly. Purdue would probably do the same. BC and WUSTL strike me as more applied MSF programs so I tend to think that they don't do as well in the PhD sphere (not saying this is true, just saying what my feeling is).

For some reason no one is recommending vanderbilt where I'm in =/ I'm guessing the location isn't safe since my proffessor says it's hard to live there but I'm not sure where the hardness comes from. I'm leaning toward vanderbilt myself even though I'd probably like Boston life better. But in the end of course I'll choose the best program to help my future phd admission and the least quantitative one ofcourse

Yea I'm leaning toward it too but I meant people in my country aren't big fans. Any clue how much is the avg living cost there ? I should have about 6000$ monthly but I'm not sure expensive is the rent and everything else is .

I would say the area around Vander is definitely lower than most areas in US.
