Hi. That’s a pretty impressive score with using just official guy then the forum!
A few thoughts:
1. Make sure you cover both quant and verbal in your prep. Even if you think your verbal is solid and good, don’t ignore it, keep it warm and primed.
2. It’s hard to restart your prep because it’s painfully slow to cover things and you don’t know what you forgot. It’s tough. TTP is definitely a very thorough and comprehensive course. Since you are only focusing on quant, I can see it being more manageable. However, I know a few people have talked about how there’s a lot of material to cover and it takes time but it kind of goes along the lines of do you want it fast, right, or cheap. Pick two.
3. Choosing between a course in the book, I would say that should be a personal preference both Manhattan and TTP would be solid. What works best for you and your learning style? Do you get more distracted if you do an online course or do you like the gamification features?
4. My suggestion for you would be to do your GMAT study before work. Even an hour and a half would be sufficient to spend per day. If you can study for days plus the weekends for an hour and a half, you should be able to cover and get to your score within two months probably maybe even less.
5. Don’t stretch out your prep because you will be forgetting what you have learned and after two or three months, you have to refresh and review again. The longer you study, the more daily refresh you have to do and that’s some point you may be doing more refresh then studying. I think about it as a mortgage with a high interest rate, when you start paying it off, you were mostly paying interest and their little principal so the same way is worth refreshing, you’ll be paying a lot of interest which is refreshing and reviewing and then a little principal which is learning new materials.
Bottom line is that you need to cover a certain amount of material. I’m not sure that there is a faster way or a slower way it really depends on how you like to learn and how you are motivated to learn…. Many people have scored a very high using these materials so there’s no question about that.
