Best way to "move on" with DS questions?

Question

I have noticed i am taking way too much time on certain DS questions and shouldve moved on(although i did solve them but they took way too long). Is there an "educated guess" technique if I can get rid of A/B (so A/B,C,E) or i just have no idea how to do the problem? I understand guessing should be the last resort but since not everybody can get 40s i am thinking there are DS problems some people here get stuck on?

I read the thread and i have used the technique before but what is the best way to guess when i get into a situation i cant reduce anymore?
ex:
choice 1 is correct. Have absolutely no idea if choice 2 is correct:
Answer choices - A,D,E

ex2:
Facing a problem that I have never seen before and has an idea of which choice is right but no definite answer:
Answer choices - A,B,C,D,E

is it basically a toss up or there's some kind of elimination that can be done without being a full guess? thanks!

No, at that point it is entirely a toss up. The DS strategy listed only helps if one of the solutions is easier than the other. Otherwise you will have the simply solve the problem to the point of sufficiency (remember, you don't need the answer, you just need to validate a yes/no for the answer options).
