Between 1950 and 1960 the population of Country A increased by 3.5 million people. If the amount of increase between 1960 and 1970 was 1.75 million more than the increase from 1950 to 1960, what was the total amount of increase in population in Country A between 1950 and 1970?

A. 1.75 million
B. 3.5 million
C. 5.25 million
D. 7 million
E. 8.75 million

Between 1950 and 1960 = 3.5m
Between 1960 and 1970 = 3.5 + 1.75 = 5.25m
Between 1950 and 1970 = 3.5 + 5.25 = 8.75m
