Highlight 1 is an unnecessary modifier. Statement still holds meaning without that.
Highlight 2 are features, which usually come after colon.
On this, we can eliminate ABD options.
Between C and E
(C) feathers, which are epidermal outgrowths consisting of shafts and veins, and serve various purposes: some aid the birds in flight, others insulate the birds' bodies, and still offer.
